Welcome to the Lancashire Branch

Chair, Gordon Jackson:  email gordonjax@btinternet.com

Secretary, Margaret Kerans  - Treasurer, Brian Leach.

Lancashire Branch has about 60 - 70 members, and covers a very spreadout area which includes Cumbria. Because of this we have found it difficult to meet up during the winter months, but during the summer are always well represented at the many rallies that take place around the country.

Our own Rally takes place over the August Bank Holliday, a few miles east of Blackpool at Kirkland and Catterall Memorial Hall. We have a flat spacious camping area, the use of the hall in the evening, and access to toilets with wash basins but no showers at all times during the weekend.

There are lots of lovely places to visit round about, including Blackpool, The Lake District, Trough of Bowland etc. We have on site events on Sunday too, as well as Social evenings on Saturday & Sunday, and a chat evening on Friday, when anything can emerge; cards, arm wrestling, darts or just chat and renew acquaintances.

Wilfried’s restored Regal in Arnhem, August 2001

Wilfried Dibbetts, one of our Lancs. International members from Holland, has documented with pictures and commentary, the restoration of his Regal. This is well worth a visit, Reliant Regal 3/30 Restoration: http://reliant.50megs.com

From the Chair

We have had a busy twelve months at the Rallies around the country. Hopefully this year will be as good. I look forward to seeing many of you at the National Rally, and our Lancashire Rally, and perhaps some more.

Gordon Jackson’s Bond 875.

This picture was taken about half a mile from my house, just outside the village, on the way up Longridge fell , overlooking one of several reservoirs round here

If you would like membership forms or spare magazines to give to any Reliant Owners you know of, who are not members of the club, please let us know.

I have sold my Fox , and now have a Bond 875, in almost mint condition, and very low mileage. It is back home in Longridge, were the very first Bond was made, only a few yards from my house!

I was coming home from Dover one day, and called in at Erskine & Calderbanks in Stockport, and there it was. I knew I had to have it, so had a chat with Tom, persuaded the wife to write out a cheque, and arranged to pick it up the following week.

Here it is!                                                                                        Gordon Jackson (Chair)
